Dynatrace Managed support

The list of operating system versions supported by Dynatrace Managed is updated continuously.

  • We release a new version of Dynatrace Managed for every even version number of Dynatrace SaaS, which results in approximately 12 releases of Dynatrace Managed per year.
  • We update the list of operating system versions supported by Dynatrace Managed at the same cadence.
  • We track the release announcements of all relevant OS vendors.

When an operating system version reaches its end of life (EOL):

  • We announce an end-of-support (EOS) date for that OS version.
  • Our EOS date is set for at least six months after the operating system version's EOL date.
  • Until our EOS date, we continue to release new versions of Dynatrace Managed for that operating system version.
  • The last Dynatrace Managed version that supports a given OS release is supported by Dynatrace for an additional three months (four months if you have a Dynatrace ONE Premium support subscription). During this period, we resolve support tickets, backport critical issues, and fix critical security vulnerabilities.

So, in total, you have at least nine months (6 + 3 = 9) to migrate from an unsupported operating system version to the newer version, while retaining full support from Dynatrace.

When an OS version is no longer supported, you can no longer install new cluster nodes or upgrade Dynatrace Managed cluster nodes to a newer version.

How to track de-support

To track Dynatrace Managed de-support plans:

  • Bookmark the page you are currently reading (End-of-support news) and review it regularly to prepare for support changes from Dynatrace. We communicate our de-support plans well in advance on this page.
  • Always review the Dynatrace Managed release notes.
  • The current list of supported operating systems is available on the Dynatrace Managed system requirements page.

Support exceptions

We've extended the support policy for the operating system releases listed below. Under these exceptions, you can still upgrade to newer versions of Dynatrace Managed on these OS releases, but you can no longer install any new cluster nodes on them.

  • Until version 1.252 (released in October 2022). Version 1.250 will be the last one that you can run on:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x
    • CentOS 6.x
    • Oracle Linux Server 6.x
  • Until version 1.260 (released around March 2023). Version 1.258 will be the last one that you can run on:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 - 7.8
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 - 8.3
