OneAgent automatically detects and monitors all mount points and network traffic of a host, but you can exclude selected mount points or network traffic from monitoring.
To view or configure these settings
- From the Dynatrace menu, select Hosts.
- Select the host you want to configure.
- Select More (…) > Settings to open the Host settings page.
- Depending on what you want to exclude, select Exclude disks or Exclude network traffic.
Exclude disks
Use the Exclude disks settings to create exception rules to remove disks from monitoring. You can select automatically detected disks or manually provide the path to them.
To exclude an automatically detected disk
- On the Exclude disks page, select the Exclude disk button.
- Select a disk from the Disks list.
- Select Add exclusion.
The disk is added to the list of all excluded disks for this host.
To manually specify a disk exclusion
- On the Exclude disks page, select the Exclude disk button.
- Select

from the Disks list.
- Describe the excluded disk:
- Operating system—affects how paths are constructed.
- File system—such as NTFS or FAT32.
- Mount point—the mount point name.
- Select Add exclusion.
The disk is added to the list of all excluded disks for this host.
Exclude network traffic
Use the Exclude network traffic settings to exclude traffic on specific network interfaces or hosts from monitoring.
Exclude NIC
All network traffic from all selected NICs is excluded from monitoring. You can select automatically detected NICs or describe them manually.
To exclude an automatically detected NIC
- On the Exclude network traffic page, select the Exclude NIC button.
- On the Network interfaces list, select a NIC whose traffic you want to exclude from monitoring.
- Select Add exclusion.
The NIC is added to the list of all excluded NICs for this host.
To manually specify a NIC exclusion
- On the Exclude network traffic page, select the Exclude NIC button.

- Operating system—affects how paths are constructed.
- Name—the operating system's name for the network interface.
- Select Add exclusion.
The NIC is added to the list of all excluded NICs for this host.
Exclude IP
All network traffic from all selected host IP addresses is excluded from calculating connectivity (other metrics are still calculated). This can be useful, for example, to avoid false connectivity alerts.
To exclude an IP address from connectivity calculations
- On the Exclude network traffic page, select the Exclude IP button.
- Enter an IP address whose traffic you want to exclude from connectivity calculations. No wildcards or ranges.
- Select Add exclusion.
The IP address is added to the list of all excluded IPs for this host.
