You can share your dashboards with anyone, even if they don't have their own accounts within the same Dynatrace environment.
To access sharing settings of a dashboard:
- Select Dashboards from the navigation menu.
- Click the Browse button (...) in the upper-right corner of the dashboard tile and select Share.
- Click Manage access.
- Chose your desired sharing option. See the descriptions below.
You can also use the Browse (...) > Share button in the upper-right corner of the dashboard itself.
Share dashboard publicly
With public sharing, even users who don't have access to the related Dynatrace environment or any Dynatrace access at all can view (but not change) your dashboard.
To share a dashboard publicly, enable the Shareable link switch and select the Anyone can view option. The dashboard is shared with its default timeframe and management zone.
To invalidate an existing sharing link and create a new one, select Renew.
Share with a link
Apart from public sharing, you can make a link to the dashboard available only for authenticated Dynatrace users. Those who have the link (for example, from a mail or an internal resource) can access the dashboard. Once users open the link for the first time, they can access the dashboard on their Dashboards page too.
To obtain the link, enable the Shareable link switch and select the Authenticated users with the link can view option.
Share with all users of the environment
You can share your dashboard with anyone who has an account in your Dynatrace environment. They can access the dashboard on their Dashboards page.
To share a dashboard with all users, enable the Publish to anyone on this environment switch.
Share with specific users
You can share a dashboard with other users of the same Dynatrace environment. With this option you can also give permission to edit the shared dashboard.
To share a dashboard with specific users, select Add user and specify the Dynatrace user ID and permission level.
Once you share a dashboard with specific users, they can access the dashboard on their Dashboards page.
Edit shared dashboards
Users assigned the Edit permission can edit shared dashboards. Use this permission carefully, as changes affect all users who share the dashboards.
If you attempt to edit a dashboard that is currently being edited by another user, you'll see a notification. Please note, when two users edit the same dashboard at the same time, the most recently saved changes have precedence over earlier changes.
To edit a dashboard for which you don't have editing permission, consider cloning the dashboard. As the owner of a cloned dashboard, you can modify the dashboard as required.
