New metrics for Tomcat processes

Beginning with OneAgent v1.73, Dynatrace reports new metrics for Tomcat processes and other Java processes that contain a Tomcat (for example, JBoss). These metrics are available on all Tomcat process pages.

As you can see below, the process infographic contains a new metric, Requests. Clicking the Requests portion of the infographic displays Java- and Tomcat-specific metrics. Similar to Apache and IIS before, Dynatrace reports the load and traffic associated with each process.

However, this is just the beginning; click Further details to get even more insights. This view currently shows the separate Tomcat request processors and thread pools, but more is coming soon. Stay tuned!

Those who know me know that I'm passionate about 3 things: rock climbing, physics, and performance. I've worked in performance monitoring and optimizations in enterprise environments for the better part of the last 10 years. Now as a Product Manager I am doing my best to build those experiences into Dynatrace.
