Managing logins

Note

See information below regarding KITE logins.

These instructions explain how to manage the logins for your company’s Keynote users, and how to change user passwords. Each Keynote measurement has one or more logins associated with it.

Logins can be managed using the Admin tab or from individual measurement pages, as described below.

Create a new login using the Admin tab

  1. Select Admin > Manage Logins. A list of existing usernames is displayed.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter the user name for the new login. We recommend you use a valid email address as the user name.
  4. Enter a password, or click AutoGen to create a random password.
  5. Enter a separate password for MyKeynote admin users, if this login is to have MyKeynote admin permission. The AutoGen button creates a password for both password and Admin password fields.
  6. Optionally, as your company’s Keynote administrator you can select three special permissions for the logins at your company. To do so, select an existing login you want to change and click Edit. On the Login Access page, click Permission. You can select the permissions available to the selected Keynote user from this screen. When permissions for the user are selected, click Set Permission. To return the permissions to their previous states, click Reset.

These permission options can be changed by Keynote customer account administrators:

    • View Quick Graphs - Enables login to access Quick Graphs in MyKeynote.
    • Access Diagnose Tab - Enables login to access MyKeynote diagnostic features.
    • Enterprise Management System - This option is only applicable to customers of Keynote Enterprise Adapter services. It enables the login to access and manage Enterprise Adapter data.

(Other visible options can only be enabled by Keynote.)

If you change permissions, click Set Permission, or Reset to return settings to default values. Click Set Permission to save the current permissions and return to the Create/Edit Login page.

  7. Click Save to save the new login.

Linking KITE login to MyKeynote account

Open an existing measurement or create a new one. You will be asked for an agreement number.

Go to the Login Access page and click on the “Free KITE Logins” button.

Select the KITE user ID you want to add to the Existing Login list. Then click on “Convert to Original Company” button.

You will only see the user’s KITE login if they properly associated it to their existing MyKeynote account during the KITE registration process.  If this wasn’t handled correctly during the registration process then the user will need to use their previous MyKeynote login to access existing measurements.

Associate this new KITE/MyKeynote login to any measurements you want the user to have access to in the MyKeynote portal. You will need to open each measurement and add the login.  If you prefer to use “Mass Edit” to add multiple measurements at once you must be sure select the “Trans Edit” option under “Mass Edit.

Note

To prevent the user from inheriting admin privileges, change the ‘MyKeynote Admin Password’ to be different from the default password provided in the form.
