dynaTrace provides 24x7 availability and performance monitoring for Java and .NET applications, software components and services, as well as their supporting infrastructure. This way, you can get an instant overview into the up-to-date health and service-level fulfillment of all your critical applications in production.
Rich set of monitoring data sources
dynaTrace KnowledgeSensorsâ„¢ for Java/.NET applications not only provide the data that make up the
PurePath transaction traces, but the same deep-diagnostics data sources can actually also be subscribed
as application monitors for application components (e.g Servlets, ASP.NET Web pages, EJBs) or application services (e,g, SOA components, Web services).
Additionally, dynaTrace’s lightweight, easy deployable Agents enable you to monitor the resource usage of the JVMs, CLRs and
application servers running your applications in-process via JMX, PerfMon and PMI down to a fine-granular level. Any system-wide data (e.g. Unix, Windows, SNMP data)
or external data source can be easily monitored through OSGi/open-source-based monitoring plug-ins that dynaTrace automatically manages and deploys for
execution through dynaTrace Collectors. A Rapid Plug-in Development Environment even allows you to easily customize existing open source monitoring
plug-ins you can find on the dynaTrace community portal, such as a synthetic end-user experience monitor.
Extensive analysis capabilities
Custom adaptive dashboards not only provide holistic and specialized views about application uptime and performance specific to your needs linked to one another, but also automatically adapt to dynamically changing service/server clusters. As dynaTrace automatically stores all time-based monitoring data in an external database, you can also analyze long-range historical data to recognize slowly developing performance trends before end-users start to experience problems (e.g. during peak times when most users are online). Percentile charts provide a quick overview if a particular problem impacts many or just a few users, identifying SLA violations. A built-in alerting and execution system, which can be easily extended through OSGi-based plug-ins, automatically notifies appropriate personnel and executes prepared remedial actions, in case an incident occurs (e.g. a service-level violation on an application service).
Go beyond monitoring
Additionally, dynaTrace goes far beyond application monitoring to accelerate the mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) of production issues by more than 10x:
- Automatically document poor performing application transactions at code-level, making the time-consuming need to reproduce production application problems in development obsolete
- Accelerate problem triage and isolation to avoid finger pointing and quickly involve responsible personnel needed to fix the issue
- Deep diagnostics to rapidly uncover the root-cause of application performance issues down to code-level in real-time or offline
