Overview

Operations are moving from reactive to autonomous. The SRE Agent investigates end to end, and you approve.

The agent investigates and takes action on its own, with human oversight. Work that used to reach a person arrives already handled. A problem fires and the agent investigates on its own, and writes the root cause back onto the problem you already triage. You run the SRE Agent as a step in an agentic workflow with the Run agent action, and the workflow adds the trigger, the approval and the routing.

RESOLVE: the incident at 2 AM. Root cause is already computed. The agent prepares the fix; you approve from your phone.

  • Triage. Route. Remediate or Optimize. The whole response, from investigation to fix, end to end.
  • Assigns automatically. Reaches the responsible team or component owner, no manual dispatch.
  • Self-healing, with oversight. A human stays in the loop where it matters.

  • Autonomous investigation: get a root cause analysis built from the error and warning logs of the affected entities, returned in a fixed template: root cause, key findings, conclusion, recommendations.
  • Available within a minute, with the agent choosing its own queries.
  • Annotated on the Problem, so the next responder starts from the analysis instead of a blank tab.
  • Route it to the service desk: the incident arrives in ServiceNow, Jira or Jira Service Management with the cause already named.
  • Collaborate, the fix in your own cloud: Dynatrace triages and hands grounded context to your cloud SRE agent to act.

  1. Enable generative AI and agentic AI for your environment and assign the permissions through a policy. See the getting started documentation.
  2. In Dynatrace Intelligence for Workflows, start from the SRE Agent template or add the Run agent action to an agentic workflow triggered on a Dynatrace problem. The agent investigates and annotates the result onto the problem.
