Start from a conversation and the agent becomes your expert assistant, in Dynatrace Assist or through the Dynatrace MCP server, wherever you work. Or let it run autonomously on a schedule: utilization, query cost, ingest volume and token spend are gathered continuously, and the analysis is routed to the person who can optimize it, so savings can be realized fast.

  1. Enable generative AI and agentic AI for your environment and assign the permissions through a policy. See the getting started documentation.
  2. Open Dynatrace Assist and ask which hosts are oversized. To ask from your IDE or terminal, install the Dynatrace MCP server.

Run it on a schedule

  1. In Dynatrace Intelligence for Workflows, add the ready-made agents for optimization to a workflow, scoped to what you own.
  2. The agent does the analysis, and the workflow adds the schedule and the routing. Set the recipients, test with a manual run, then move the trigger to a schedule and pick email, Slack or a Git repository.
