Dynatrace Managed is certified for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x distributions.
We’re very excited about this week’s announcement from Red Hat (one of our technology alliance partners) that Dynatrace Managed is certified for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x distributions. For details, see the listing in the Red Hat Customer Portal. Dynatrace Managed thus joins OneAgent and OneAgent Operator in Red Hat certification.
RHEL 8.1, released in November 2019, brings a number of enhancements that are important for running Dynatrace Managed in a resilient and secure way, including:
- Live kernel patching for critical and selected important CVEs
- Administrator-supplied list of approved applications
- In-place upgrade from RHEL 7 that greatly eases migration to the latest release
We’re happy to say that we’ve already tested and begun support for Dynatrace Managed version 1.186 with RHEL 8.0 and 8.1.
We have made migration to RHEL 8.0 and 8.1 as smooth as possible. After OS migration of your existing Dynatrace Managed deployment, run just one command to apply the new OS settings:
About our partnership with Red Hat
Dynatrace partners with Red Hat to bring better performance, capabilities, and results. The partnership works well because Dynatrace and Red Hat are aligned in simplicity and innovation. Dynatrace and Red Hat will continue to collaborate and build on our existing partnership, which is how we can support our software integration as early as possible with the highest quality approved by the certification. We’ve got you covered now and going forward with Red Hat updates.
Please join us in congratulating the R&D teams that made this possible, and stay tuned for further announcements.
