Overview

Get full-stack visibility into your Microsoft Agent Framework AI agents with zero instrumentation effort — the framework's built-in OpenTelemetry support emits traces and metrics using native gen_ai.* semantic conventions, so you can monitor model performance, token costs, agent behavior, and conversation flows in Dynatrace AI Observability out of the box.

Get started

Getting started requires no additional instrumentation SDK — the Microsoft Agent Framework self-instruments via built-in OpenTelemetry support.

Requirements

  • Python 3.10+ or .NET 8+.
  • An Azure OpenAI or GitHub Models endpoint.
  • Dynatrace SaaS with Traces powered by Grail and Metrics powered by Grail enabled.
  • A Dynatrace API token with openTelemetryTrace.ingest and metrics.ingest scopes.
