Overview

The Kuppsoft Observability solution combines Dynatrace Real User Monitoring (RUM) and backend tracing via Kupp Process Insights to deliver full-stack observability across Microsoft Power Platform applications. It captures real‑time client‑side interactions in model-driven, canvas apps, and Power Pages, while automatically tracing server‑side code (plugins, custom APIs) in Dataverse. The solution is deployed via an AppSource package, with simple configuration using telemetry records and PCF components for seamless RUM integration. It bridges frontend and backend telemetry, providing visual correlation of user sessions, performance bottlenecks, code-level traces, and end-to-end diagnostics. Ideal for IT, DevOps, and developers, it enables proactive optimization and improved user experiences.

Frontend Real User Monitoring (RUM)

  • Automatically injects Dynatrace RUM into:
    • Model-driven apps
    • Canvas apps using a PCF component
    • Power Pages via JavaScript snippet configuration
    • Captures real-time data on user interactions, page loads, performance, and client-side errors. Backend Tracing with Kupp Process Insights
  • Monitors server-side performance of Dataverse components:
    • Plugins
    • Custom APIs
    • Workflows
  • Provides detailed trace information including:
    • Execution times
    • Method-level visibility
    • Input/output parameters
    • Correlation IDs for traceability

End-to-End Session Correlation

  • Links frontend user sessions with backend traces in Dynatrace.
  • Enables full-stack diagnostics by visualizing the complete request flow.
