4 consecutive years in Gartner’s ‘Leaders’ Quadrant

The team and I really get a kick when a prospective customer first sees Dynatrace (now known as Dynatrace) in action. Within minutes we get eyes opening wide and comments like “Whoa, I never thought I could see that level of details from our systems” or “I never dreamed this level of visibility in production was possible,” and a favorite “No way, all this was done automatically?!” We add “yes, auto-magically” with PurePath and PureStack. These ‘innovation in action’ moments get even better when a few weeks after buying our solution the Ops teams, architects, QA teams, developments groups, business users, even CIOs give us more praises and comments on what they’ve been doing with our technology that they were never able to do before.

It feels great too when our customers’ successes with our technology get louder and resonates with the industry analyst communities. On this side, Gartner just published the 2013 APM MQ. For the 4th consecutive year, in fact ever since this MQ started, Compuware is again in the ‘Leaders’ Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring” report. This and the value our customers realize from our solutions are accomplishments that we believe no other APM company can match.

Even more gratifying to those of us on the technology side, and what keeps us ahead in many respects in the APM space, Gartner has once again positioned us the furthest for ‘completeness of vision’ for the 3rd years in a row. I see this as a measure of the innovation we consistently bring to the market. For example, the recent free Mobile App Monitoring, end-to-end APM from the user to mainframe, filling the Citrix visibility gap, boosting your Big Data investment, and more!

In many ways, we feel this year’s Gartner MQ confirms what we’ve been talking about for a while now, the older APM tools can no longer fully address today’s complexity and business demands. And our new generation APM approach continues to adapt to modern workloads and use cases faster and better than our peers – in cloud, for big data, for mobile, for DevOps, and more.

Thank you Dynatrace customers for your support. You are the reason we innovate. You are the reason we focus so keenly on delivery value, not just product. And, we feel you are the reason we continue to be recognized by Gartner and so many other analysts around the world as an APM leader others are following.
