This is an ActiveGate extension that connects to IBM Security Access Manager using its REST API to collect metrics regarding proxy, junctions and ISAM server basic metrics.

Requirements

• A user with high permissions to make requests to /statistics, /analysis endpoints.
• An optional secondary user with admin privileges to make pdadmin requests.
• Network communication to the ISAM host and port. Default port is 443.

Installation

There are two steps to install an Activegate extension:

1. Environment ActiveGate server - Extract the extension zip file to the plugin_deployment folder of the remote plugin module

   • In a default installation this is done with unzip -o -d /opt/dynatrace/remotepluginmodule/plugin_deployment custom.remote.python.isam.zip
   • Adjust the path if the Activegate was installed somewhere other than /opt/dynatrace

2. Browser - Upload the custom.remote.python.isam.zip file to your tenant

   • Settings > Monitored technologies > Custom extensions > Upload extension

Configuration

1. Click on the new uploaded extension on the Custom Extensions screen on your tenant and select "Add new endpoint"
2. Fill in the fields on the configuration screen and select the ActiveGate to which the extension was uploaded.
3. The type of user to connect to ISAM needs to have admin privileges to be able to read and collect memory, cpu, storage information.
4. A secondary pdadmin username/password is optional and it is to collect thread information.
