Overview
With Dynatrace you will get observability for all applications developed with the Akka framework including end-to-end distributed tracing, metrics and log insights. Additionally Dynatrace deep code level insights will give you CPU profiling insights including method hotspots, insights into calls to databases, error/exception analysis, and much more. Comprehensive out-of-the box metrics will give you insights into memory allocation, garbage collection, and thread behavior.

Get started
If Akka is running directly on a virtual machine, install OneAgent on that virtual machine to get started.
If Akka is running as a workload in Kubernetes, set up Dynatrace on Kubernetes.
If Akka is running as a workload in OpenShift, set up Dynatrace on OpenShift.
Activate the following OneAgent features for Akka to get full tracing insight:
- Java Akka
- Java/Scala Akka HTTP
- Java/Scala Akka HTTP client
- Java/Scala Akka Remoting
Activate log monitoring to get full log insight.
