TLS 1.0 and 1.1 end-of-support for RUM data
Starting with April 2022, Dynatrace stopped supporting TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 for Dynatrace SaaS Real User Monitoring (RUM) data. Dynatrace currently supports TLS version 1.2 for sending RUM data to the Dynatrace Cluster.
To improve reliability and security, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) deprecated TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 in March 2021. Following this industry standard, Dynatrace also disabled TLS 1.0 and 1.1 for RUM data. Note that regular communication between the Dynatrace components—OneAgent, ActiveGate, Cluster, and Dynatrace web UI—was upgraded more than two years ago to allow only TLS 1.2.
Dynatrace SaaS no longer accepts RUM data from some "agentless," Android, and hybrid Android applications. For details, check the table below.
Application type | Details |
---|---|
Web | Applications configured via agentless RUM and viewed from browsers that don't use TLS 1.2+. |
Mobile | Apps running on Android 4.0 Apps running on Android 4.1–4.4 (API level 16–19) and are instrumented with OneAgent for Android versions 8.189 and earlier. Note: Apps running on Android 5.+ are not affected by this change. |
Hybrid | Apps where the mobile part is running on Android 4.x and the web part is viewed via browsers that don't use TLS 1.2+. |
