Modifying script and step names

By default, the script name is the URL you enter to begin the script recording. The step name is the title of the page visited in the step. You can change these names.

For example:

  • You may want a script name that describes the purpose of the script, or you may need to avoid duplicate names if you have scripts that begin with the same URL.
  • If you change a step to navigate to a different page, the original page title is preserved in the script. To avoid confusion, you can change the step name to match the new page.
  • You may divide a step into two smaller steps. You will need to assign a name to the new step.

The existing script name becomes a field that you can edit.
