Submit action

The Submit action specifies a target form in which to submit. While recording, this action is only generated if the form has no Submit button and the user presses the [Enter] key within the form.

This action is made up of a single target locator and requires no other properties.

It is recommended to use this action when a Click action or pressing the Enter key within the appropriate areas of the form are not options.

Browser Agent implementation of the Submit action

The following is a description what the agents do when they execute the Submit action:

  1. Locate the target form.

  2. Execute onsubmit(), if applicable.

  3. Fire the submit event.

  4. Perform a .submit() on the form.
