Scroll action

The Scroll action provides a way to scroll the document to a specified coordinate position. This action is helpful if the web application that is being recorded triggers additional network requests as the result of scrolling the page. The action can be defined to scroll to a specified x,y coordinate (where 0,0 is the top left corner of the target document), or to the absolute bottom, right, left, or top of the target document.

The following properties are stored within this action:

This property currently has only one value: page. This value specifies that the scroll action will be done at the page level.

The targetWindow is the window or frame to scroll.

This property can have one of the following values:

  • BOTTOM – The agent scrolls the target window to the bottom of the document.

  • TOP – The agent scrolls the target window to the top of the document (y=0).

  • LEFT – The agent scrolls the target window to the leftmost position (x=0).

  • RIGHT – The agent scrolls the target window to the rightmost position.

  • CUSTOM – The agent scrolls the page to the position you specify by defining x and y coordinates.

x and y

If the scrollToPosition value is set to CUSTOM, you must provide x and y coordinate values.

The Recorder captures scroll actions during recording if the Capture Scrolls setting is enabled during the recording phase. All scroll actions captured during recording will be CUSTOM scroll actions, in which the x and y positions are captured. Scrolls with scrollToPosition values of BOTTOM, TOP, LEFT, and RIGHT can only be added by manually creating a Scroll action or by editing an existing Scroll.
