When you integrate Dynatrace Synthetic Classic with Dynatrace SaaS/Managed, you can view synthetic tests in Saas/Managed dashboards, then drill down from a selected test to the Synthetic Classic Portal.
You need to configure the integration in Dynatrace SaaS/Managed and in Dynatrace Synthetic Classic.
Get the following information from Dynatrace SaaS/Managed:
Generate a token for the integration.
Go to Settings > Integration > Dynatrace modules.
Click Generate token for Synthetic.
Copy the URL string to use for the tenant key in the Synthetic Classic configuration.
Dynatrace SaaS – Copy your tenant key including the initial https:// but not including the trailing slash.
For example, if the URL is
Dynatrace Managed – Use the Secure Gateway endpoint plus the tenant key.
- Copy the Public Managed Security Gateway endpoint from the Cluster Management console: Settings > Public endpoints > Security Gateway URL.
- Copy the tenant key string /e/<string> from the Dynatrace dashboard URL, making sure not to include the trailing slash. For example, if the URL is
In the Synthetic Classic Portal, configure the account settings.
Go to > Account settings, then select Integration > Dynatrace SaaS synthetic.
Enter the Dynatrace token from step 1 of the Dynatrace SaaS/Managed procedure above.
Enter the Tenant key from step 2 of the Dynatrace SaaS/Managed procedure.
Dynatrace SaaS – Enter the URL string you copied.
Dynatrace Managed – Enter the Security Gateway endpoint with the tenant key string appended:
<SG endpoint URL>/e/<tenant key string>
Make sure you include the port in the endpoint URL. For example, if the endpoint, with the port, is
https://SecurityGatewayDomain:9999and the tenant key string is
The new token is listed on the page. Make sure the token is enabled .
After you configure the integration, two tiles for synthetic tests are automatically added to the Home page in Dynatrace SaaS/Managed.
When you view a synthetic test in Dynatrace SaaS/Managed, you can drill down from the test's page to the Synthetic Classic Portal's Test overview page. All drilldowns from the Test overview page and other portal features are available for data analysis.
