The Errors tab provides error information at the aggregate and test level.
At each level, the Performance dashboard groups errors into categories. See the next section, Error Categories, for more information.
An analysis of errors is also shown in the Analysis tab.
The Performance dashboard groups errors into these categories:
The test had a HTTP 4xx (client error) or 5xx (server error) response status code.
Refer to the World Wide Web Consortium website for more information about HTTP response codes.
The test returned an error code excluding these codes:
- 15001 – User Script Processing Failed
- 30500 – Text Match Failed
- 31000 – Timeout Exceeded
The test returned an error code 31000 – Timeout Exceeded.
The transaction failed because the end-to-end response time of the transaction exceeded the current limits. The default timeout limits are 2 minutes per page and 5 minutes per transaction.
The test returned an error code 15001 – User Script Processing Failed.
The required elements for the next user script action were not available on the page. This is typically a CSS locator.
The test returned an error code 30500 Text Match Failed.
The content match condition defined for this page or object was not met. This is usually due to the appearance of an error page or a site change.
Viewing aggregate information
In the aggregate view, the Errors tab lists the total number of errors for all tests in this dashboard by category.
Select a row in the Errors tab to view more information as to what tests had the error.
The Health Map is replaced by a table that lists the following information for the selected error category:
- Test name – All tests that have this error.
Click a test name to open the Errors tab displaying test-level information for the selected test, as described in the next section. The information shown is filtered for the selected error category.
Note that the information shown on this tab may be filtered.
- Product name
- Number of errors
Click the value to open the Errors tab displaying test-level information, as described in the next section. The information shown is filtered for the selected error category.
Viewing test level information
At the test level, the Errors tab lists the page level errors that occurred for the selected time period for this test.
The tab lists the:
- Error code and brief description
- Error category
- Start time of this error
Select the type of errors to view by using the Quick Filters menu, located to the right of the tabs.
The menu lists the type and number of errors for this test.
Use the menu to select or clear the errors shown on the tab. By default all errors are shown.
Drilldowns for data analysis
In the Errors tab for a test:
Click an error to go to the Waterfall summary page for the test execution.
If you drilled down to the Performance dashboard from the Operational summary page, the error table includes the Root Cause column. Click the icon in an error row to open the Root Cause Analysis by Test popup window. In the root causes table, click a timestamp in the First Occurrence column to go to the Waterfall summary page for that test execution
