Thresholds for Operations dashboards

Define warning and severe level thresholds for each dashboard in the Thresholds for <DashboardName> page.

To go to this page from the Manage Dashboards page, select Edit Thresholds from the Action menu.

You can also create or edit thresholds while creating a dashboard.

Defining Last Mile operation dashboard thresholds

Define the end-to-end time warning and severe level thresholds for high broadband, low broadband, and dial up connections.

You can also define the warning and severe level thresholds for availability. Set the warning threshold to a lower value than the severe threshold.

  1. For one of the tests in the dashboard, enter the number of seconds (up to three decimal places) for the warning and severe thresholds for:
    • High broadband connections
    • Low broadband connections
    • Dial up connections.
  2. Enter the percentage value (up to two decimal places) for the warning and severe thresholds for availability.
    Set the warning threshold to a higher value than the severe threshold.
  3. Optionally, use the Action menu, as described below.
  4. Complete entering values for the remaining tests in this dashboard as described in steps 1–3.
  5. Click Submit. Depending on the page you originally came from, the Manage Dashboard page or Create Dashboard page appears.

Click Reset All in the upper right corner of the window to reset all values on this page to their previous values.

Defining Backbone operation dashboard thresholds

Define end-to-end time and availability warning and severe level thresholds.

  1. For one of the tests in the dashboard, enter the number of seconds (up to three decimal places) for the warning and severe thresholds.
    Set the warning threshold to a lower value than the severe threshold.
  2. Enter the percentage value (up to two decimal places) for the warning and severe thresholds for availability.
    Set the warning threshold to a higher value than the severe threshold.
  3. Optionally, use the Action menu, as described below.
  4. Complete entering values for the remaining tests in this dashboard as described in steps 1–3.
  5. Click Submit. Depending on the page you originally came from, the Manage Dashboard page or Create Dashboard page appears.

Defining Backbone analyst dashboard thresholds

Define end-to-end time and availability warning and severe level thresholds.

  2. Enter the percentage value (up to two decimal places) for the warning and severe thresholds for availability.

  3. Optionally, choose an option from the Action menu, as described in the next section.
  4. Complete entering values for the remaining tests in this dashboard as described in steps 1–3.
  5. Click Submit. Depending on the page you originally came from, the Manage Dashboard page or Create Dashboard page appears.

Click Reset All in the upper right corner of the window to reset all values on this page to their previous values.

Action menu

The options available on the Action menu depend on whether you select the menu from an individual test (not included in a group), a test in a group, or a group.

For an individual test, choose:

  • Apply to All – Applies the values you entered for a metric to the same metric in all tests in this dashboard.
  • Reset – Resets the threshold values to their original values for this test.
  • Clear – Clears the threshold values for this test.

For a test that belongs to a group, choose:

  • Apply to All – Applies the values you entered for a metric to the same metric in all tests in this dashboard.
  • Apply to Current Group Tests – Applies the values you entered for this test to all tests in this group.
  • Reset – Resets the threshold values to their original values for this test.
  • Clear – Clears the threshold values for this test.

For a group, choose:

  • Apply to Current Group Tests – Applies the values entered for a metric to the same metric in all tests in this dashboard.
  • Reset – Resets the threshold values to their original values for this test.
  • Clear – Clears the threshold values for this test.
