Sharing charts

You can share an interactive chart with other Portal users in your account or provide any user with a public link (a URL) to an interactive chart. You can also share or provide a link to these drilldowns from an interactive chart:

Sharing interactive charts with other users in the portal

When you share an interactive chart, other users in your account can view and save the chart with a different name but they cannot delete the chart. A shared chart has all of the features of the original chart.

You can share an interactive chart from the View and Manage Charts section on the landing page or while viewing the chart.

  1. Click Action > Share > With Account Users.
    A confirmation box appears.
  2. Click Submit.
The Shared by column in the View and Manage Charts section on the landing page now indicates that this chart is shared.

You also have the option of sharing an interactive chart when you save the chart. Select Share with all the users in my account when you save the chart.

You can create a link to interactive charts, object charts, and SCoE information so colleagues who may not have access to the Portal can view the information. You can copy-and-paste the link (e.g. to send via text message) or provide the link in an email sent directly from the Portal.

Links to interactive charts can be temporary or permanent. Links to SCoE information are always temporary.

Administrators can manage the ability to create links by enabling or disabling this feature in the Account settings page.

Links to interactive charts can be temporary or permanent. Temporary links are valid for 7 days or 14 days. You can create a permanent link to a saved interactive chart or a temporary link to a saved or unsaved interactive chart.

Links to saved and unsaved charts are identical. However, if a user makes changes to the original chart after the link has been created, these changes are not propagated to the links for unsaved charts; the changes are propagated to links to saved charts.

You cannot create a temporary link to an interactive chart if you have already created a permanent link.

Clicking the link displays the interactive chart.

The chart consists of:

  • Chart name (for saved charts), test name or object chart/object name, date, time and time zone
  • Chart
  • Data table

While these charts have many of the same features as interactive charts in the Portal, you cannot:

  • Drill down to view other charts or view additional information. However, tooltips are available.
  • View the raw scatter chart.
  • Modify filters or time frames.
  • Add metrics. However, you can delete metrics shown in the chart.
View the original metrics by refreshing the link.
  • Use the Action menu in the chart or in the data table.
  • Use templates.

Public links to  SCoE information are always temporary. Links are valid for 7 or 14 days or for the life of the SCoE data, whichever is shorter.

The SCoE information shown in the link is identical  to the information shown in the Portal, including the ability to export the data.

You can create a permanent link from the landing page for interactive charts or temporary links from within an interactive chart or from the SCoE page. You can create more than one temporary link.
