Event logs

To go to the Event log page, click Menu icon > Event logs.

The Event log page provides an audit trail for account activity. Each log entry lists the date and time of a change, type of change, and the employee who made the change.

Event log messages

Log entries are added for these events:

  • Adding a new account
  • Editing account information
  • Editing alert preferences
  • Adding, deleting, or editing alert notifications
  • Editing node preferences
  • Adding, deleting, or editing a Backbone test
  • Adding, deleting, or editing a group
  • Adding or editing a user

Using the event log

By default, the Event logs page lists the events from oldest to newest. Click the Date and time column head to reverse the sort order.

You can also sort the other columns by clicking the column head.

To view details for any event, click the event to display the information inline.

Filtering the event log

Filter by time frame

Select a time frame from the menu at the top of the page to view log entries for a range from the last 5 minutes through the last 45 days.

Filter by user or description

You can filter the list to see only entries with a specific description or only activity by a specific user, for the selected time frame.

  1. Click in the field above the list, then select whether to filter by Description or by User.
Your selection is entered in the field and a list of items meeting that criterion is displayed.

  2. Optional: To filter a long list of possible selections, type a string contained in the log description you're looking for. For example, after selecting Description, type new to shorten the list to descriptions containing the word "new".

  3. Click the description for the log entries you want to view.

Exporting the event log

Click Export to CSV at the top of the page to export the event log to a logs.csv file. If you've filtered the list, only the entries displayed by the filter will be included in the file.
