Tools ► Packet data mining tasks, then download the file and open in DNA
Use this capture method (Smart Packet Capture) to diagnose user-specific issues: you conduct some fault domain isolation (FDI) to focus on a specific user, locate that user on a NAM Server report, and start a capture from that NAM Server report.
- You have installed DNA.
- You have captured a trace using Smart Packet Capture. For more information, see Starting a Smart Packet Capture and Managing Smart Packet Captures.
Opening the trace
On the NAM Server main menu bar, select Tools ► Packet data mining tasks.
This screen lists all Smart Packet Captures in progress or previously captured.
In the list of tasks, find the task that generated the trace file you want to download and click to expand the task.
In the list of traces for that task, find the trace you want to download and click .
The Download file window displays a suggested file name and the target file format.
opcxfile format (for a DNA import) and click OK.
In the Opening filename .opcx window, select Open with and Dynatrace Network Analyzer, and then click OK.
DNA will open your file in the Save window.
Set Filter and click Finish.
- No filter
Opens your trace with no filtering. You can still filter it later.
- Trace Trimmer
Opens your trace in Trace Trimmer, which offers easy but effective trace filtering through a simple GUI.
- Basic or BPF Filter
If you prefer to write a filter by hand, you can click the Set Filter button and write a BPF filter to apply to your trace.
