Online license management

To manage licenses online, you need:

  • A valid account on the eServices web site
  • Open licenses created by your license vendor and available through your eServices account
  • A NAM Console installation (server) that can access the eServices web site
Component vs Capacity
  • For component based licensing, apply license files to NAM Servers.
  • For capacity based licensing, apply license files to NAM Probes.

You can activate and deactivate licenses online.

Online activation

  1. Log in to your NAM Console and navigate to Deployment ► Licensing on the top menu.

  2. If necessary, click Proxy Settings to configure your proxy.

  3. Click Manage Licenses.

  4. Specify the Online license management (eServices) mode, provide the eServices account information, and click OK.

  5. From the Available licenses pool, drag and drop the license to the inactive component (NAM Server or NAM Probe).

  6. After you drag licenses to components (NAM Server or NAM Probe), click Apply Changes.

  7. Click Start to have the NAM Console automatically interact with eServices and implement your requests.

  8. Upon successful activation, click Finish and the component (NAM Server or NAM Probe) will be displayed in green.

Online deactivation

  1. Log in to your NAM Console and navigate to Deployment ► Licensing on the top menu.

  2. If necessary, click Proxy Settings to configure your proxy.

  3. Click Manage Licenses.

  4. Specify the Online license management (eServices) mode, provide the eServices account information and click OK.

  5. Click the component (NAM Server or NAM Probe) that you want to deactivate and select Deactivate.

  6. After you complete assigning licenses to components (NAM Server or NAM Probe), click Apply Changes.

  7. Click Start to have the NAM Console automatically interact with eServices and implement your requests.

  8. Click Finish to close the popup.
