Online license management

Prerequisites

In order to manage licenses online in NAM you need:

  • A valid account in the Dynatrace eServices portal. If you do not have account yet, click here to register.
  • A NAM user account with an administrator role.
  • A direct or proxied connection between the NAM Console server and the eServices portal.
License destinations

Apply capacity licenses to NAM Probes and component licenses to NAM Servers in the NAM Console.

Switching to online license management mode:

  1. Log in to your NAM Console using admininstrator credentials.
  2. (Optional) Configure proxy server settings in Deployment > Settings > Proxy.

  3. Open Deployment ► Licensing and click Manage Licenses.
  4. Select online mode and provide your eServices credentials:

Now you can activate, deactivate, and upgrade your licenses online.

Online license activation

  1. Select Online license management mode in the NAM Console.

  2. From the Available licenses pool, drag and drop the license to the inactive component (NAM Server or NAM Probe).

  3. After you drag licenses to components, click Apply Changes.

  4. Click Start to have the NAM Console automatically interact with eServices and implement your requests.

  5. Upon successful activation, click Finish and the component (NAM Server or NAM Probe) will be displayed in green.

Online license deactivation

  1. Select Online license management mode in the NAM Console.

  2. Click the component (NAM Server or NAM Probe) that you want to deactivate and select Deactivate.

  3. After you complete assigning licenses to components, click Apply Changes.

  4. Click Start to have the NAM Console automatically interact with eServices and implement your requests.

  5. Click Finish to close the popup.

Online license upgrade

  1. Select Online license management mode in the NAM Console.
  2. Select a device (NAM Server or NAM Probe) that shows License must be upgraded witin XX days and select Upgrade.
  3. Click Apply changes to start the license upgrade process.
  4. Click Finish to close the popup.
