Limitations of PVU mode user aggregation

Settings that are specific to the PVU mode are applied only to reports that are accessed from the Software Services and Network menu, or that are based on the "Software service, operation, and site data" or "Application, transaction, and tier data" data views. For other DMI data views, the user-related dimensions and metrics are calculated according to the ISP mode rules.

Using the PVU mode imposes some limitations related to dimensions and metrics. Use the User activity details and server statistics on demand option to bypass the client-level limitations. For more information, see NAM Server configuration.

Disabled dimensions and metrics

In the PVU mode, these dimensions and metrics in the "Software service, operation, and site data" data view are disabled:

  • Histogram
  • Data samples
  • Person-hours lost
  • Person-hours lost (errors)
  • Person-hours lost (performance)

Unavailable dimension-metric combinations

In the PVU mode, no dimension in the list below can be combined with any of the user-related metrics listed. If you try to display a DMI report with this combination, a warning message is displayed and the report is not generated. As noted earlier, use the User activity details and server statistics on demand option to bypass the client-level limitations.
