Quick report server backup and restore

Make backup copies of the CAS report server configuration regularly. Note that a configuration can only be restored for the same CAS version.

Quick backup

Backing up the current CAS report server configuration requires a user with privileges to perform administrative tasks.

To back up the CAS configuration:

  1. Log in as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Tools ► Diagnostics ► Export diagnostic information and collect generated Central_Analysis_Server_hostname_ExportConfig_YYYY_MM_DD__HH_MM_SS.zip file.
  3. Collect XML Export of DMI reports' definitions: Tools ► DMI ► Export/Import ► Export all sections
  4. Copy all of the files located in the <installation directory>\config directory to the backup device.
  5. Copy all of the files located in the <installation directory>\classes\CustomQueries directory to the backup device.

Quick restore

Restoring the RUM Console configuration requires:

  • Installed CAS report server and a user with privileges to perform administrative tasks.
  • XML backup file generated in step 4 of Quick Backup procedure.
  • An unzipped backup file.

To restore the RUM Console configuration:

  1. Log in as an administrator.
  2. Import the DMI reports definitions: Tools ► DMI ► Export/Import ► IMPORT FROM FILE
  3. Copy all of the files from the unzipped backup to the <installation directory>\config directory.
  4. Copy all of the files from the unzipped backup to the <installation directory>\classes\CustomQueries directory.
  5. Restart the report server.
