Adding, editing, or deleting report time ranges

Use the various time range controls to focus your report on a specific time range, and to add flexibility to time range selection as needed.

Setting the main time range for your report

  1. On the NAM Server navigation menu, go to the Tools section open a new or existing report for editing.

    • To create a new report, select DMI ► New report.
    • Open an existing report, select DMI ► Manage reports, find and select the report, click Edit.
  2. On the report level, select the Time tab.

  3. Use the Time control type at the top of the screen to specify the type of time range available from your report.

  4. If needed, configure section-specific time ranges in the table of section time ranges on this screen.

Changing the default time range on a report

In Custom or Advanced mode, you can select a different default time range for a report.

  1. Edit the report.
    Options:
    • Create a new report.
    • Open an existing report and select Edit report.
  2. On the Time tab, click the time range you want to make the default for this report.
    This displays additional options for editing your report.
  3. Click the Set as default button.
  4. Click Display report to view the report.
    It opens to the new default time range.

Deleting a time range from a report

In Custom or Advanced mode, you can delete a time range from a report.

  1. Edit the report.
    Options:
    • Create a new report.
    • Open an existing report and select Edit report.
  2. On the Time tab, click the time range you want to remove from the selected report.
    This displays additional options for editing your report.
  3. Click the Delete button.
  4. Click Display report to view the report.
    The deleted time range is no longer listed in the time range control.

Configuring section-specific time ranges

In addition to the time range at the report level, you can specify that one or more sections have a different time range and resolution.

  1. Open the report in DMI and select the Time tab.

  2. In the upper section of the screen, set the time range for the overall report.

  3. In the list of sections, find a section whose time range you want to specify as different from the overall report time range.

  4. Select a Custom section time.

  5. Click the Attributes link for the selected section to view time range attributes and adjust them as needed.
    For custom time ranges (Custom last n and Custom advanced time), you can set your own properties.

  6. In the Filter Display column, select whether and how to display this time range for this report section.
    The custom time range for this section is displayed on the report according to this setting.
    If Custom section time is None, this setting has no effect on the appearance of the report.

    • Report header:
      Show the custom range in the report header.
    • Section header - if different:
      If the section time range and report time range are not the same, show the custom range in the section header.
    • Section header - always:
      Regardless of any differences between the section and report time ranges, show the custom range in the section header.
    • Section header - if different in report, always in PDF export:
      If the section time range and report time range are not the same, show the custom range in the section header.
      However, always show the custom range in the section header in the PDF version of the report.
    • Hidden:
      Do not show the custom range in the report header or in the section header.
  7. In the Filter Mode column, select how you want to protect this time range on the report.

    • Read/write – can be removed from displayed report.
    • Read-only – can be changed by publication (selecting row with time value).
    • Fixed – no editing available.
  8. When you have set all section time ranges, click Display report to view the results.
