Breadcrumbs tab

Use the Breadcrumbs tab to examine and edit a report's breadcrumb trail.

  • Breadcrumbs can be static labels or they can be links to other reports.
  • Breadcrumbs are not automatically generated from your navigational path to a screen. You configure them according to the workflow.

See Editing breadcrumbs on a report for a walkthrough of how to add breadcrumbs to a report, including how to control filters and time ranges and how to add custom rules.

Overview

A breadcrumbs control appears at the top of each NAM Server screen to show you where you are in the system. For example, if you open the NAM Server menu and select Reports ► Applications ► SAP, the SAP dashboard report opens with breadcrumbs line Home > Applications > SAP dashboard, where the Home entry is an active link to the NAM Server home page and the next two parts show the menu structure and report title.

That's the default structure for a standard report on a NAM Server menu:

  • It starts with a Home link, which is a link to the screen you see when you select Home from the NAM Server menu. If you open any report and select Set as home page from that report's menu, the Home link will point to that report.

  • The Home link is followed by the menu path to the current configuration screen or report, and then by the name of the current report.

  • If the report is on a NAM Server menu, the default is Home + the menu path to the report + the report title.

  • If the report is not on a NAM Server menu but it appears on a dashboard, the default is Home + the dashboard name and section + the report title.

  • If the report is not on a NAM Server menu or a dashboard, the default is Home + the report title.

  • If the report has not been saved yet, the default is Home + Data Mining Interface.

The various editing options are described below and in Editing breadcrumbs on a report.
