Users - NAM Server

NAM Server ► Settings ► Security ► Users

The NAM Server Users screen lists each currently defined user and options to modify user settings and rights.

Users

For each user, the following information is displayed:

The login name of the user.
  • Roles
The NAM Server roles assigned to a user. The NAM Server roles define the type of user, including the type of privileges the user is granted. See User role descriptions for descriptions of user roles.
  • Groups
The NAM Server user groups to which the user belongs. When you assign roles to a group, any user who is a member of that group is granted the privileges of that group's roles in addition to any roles assigned directly to that user.
  • E-mail address
The address that will be used when you choose to send a report by e-mail or when you are saving a report. You can define only one e-mail address per user.
  • Name
The name of the user, which can be different from the login name and can contain words separated by spaces (such as a first name and last name).
  • Home page
The URL of the page you see after this user logs in to the report server. This page is also displayed when this user clicks the Home link on the left-hand side of the menu bar at any time during a user session.
Specify the home page URL relative to the host root (without a leading protocol prefix and without the host name or IP address). For example, to set up Dashboard as the user's front page, type dashboard instead of [http://servername/dashboard](http://servername/dashboard).
Replace all spaces in the report name with “+” signs.
Note

The string in the Home page field is not checked for validity when it is entered. If you specify a home page incorrectly, the user will receive the error “404 Not Found” when attempting to log in. It is therefore important to always test a user account after modifying the home page entry.

If you define a wrong home page for yourself (superuser), you have to return to the user administration screen by manually typing http://*servername*/UserCfg in your browser.

  • Description
    Additional information about the user.
  • Data access status
This column is visible only if you use the Data Access Permission functionality. It shows information about data access restrictions.
