Network explorer
Use this report to get an overview of network performance from various viewpoints.
Overview tab
The Overview tab has three usage charts and a table of performance details. For any chart:
- Click a bar in the chart to zoom in on the selected time.
- Click an entry in the chart legend to toggle that category.
Charts
Click zoom on a chart to zoom on the selected time.
- Usage vs users
The bandwidth used (broken down by downstream and upstream usage) charted against the total unique users (chart line) over time.
- Loss rate vs usage
The percentage of total packets that were lost and need to be transmitted again (broken down by downstream and upstream loss rates).
- RTT vs usage
The time it takes a SYN packet to travel from client to server and back again (broken down by local and remote RTT).
Performance details table
- Change per client site to see performance details from a different perspective.
- Click any active data in the table to see selection and drilldown options.
Conversation details tab
Use the Conversation details tab to explore conversations.
You need to open the Conversation details tab in context. For example, on the Overview tab, click a server in the Performance details table and select Analyze conversations to and from this machine to open the Conversation details tab with a filter set for the selected server.
- Performance details - a table of performance statistics. Change the per setting for this table to see performance details from a different perspective.
- Client connections – a table of client connections to the selected IP address.
- Server connections – a table of server connections to the selected IP address.
- Top 5 clients by usage – charts for the top clients by usage.
- Top 5 server connections by usage – charts for the top servers by usage.
L2 data tab
Applies to NAM 2018+
Charts
- Bandwidth usage
The latest client and server bandwidth usage charted against the total bandwidth used (chart line) over time.
- Usage (packets)
The client and server packet usage (in Mpkts) charted against the total packet usage (chart line) over time.
- Maximum packet size
The client and server maximum packet size charted over time.
L2 table (tunnel, VLAN, or QoS)
- Change per tunnel (the default) to see L2 performance details from the VLAN or QoS perspective.
- Click any active data in the table to see selection and drilldown options.
Software service analysis tab
Applies to DC RUM 2017
Use the Software service analysis tab to explore software services.
- Top 10 software services by usage – charts of the top software services by usage.
- Performance details – a table of performance statistics that depend on the context (see the per list): user-defined status, software service, server, client region, client area, client site, link, QoS, tunnel, VLAN, and User explorer (opens the User explorer).
