Dashlet specific data source

While adding a new dashlet via the Add dashlet dialog box, you can configure dashlet specific data source. To do so, after selecting the dashlet type click Next, and select the Server and session for the dashlet.

The header of the dashlet with custom data source displays the icon.

You can also configure dashlet specific data source later. See Dashboard data scope for more information.

Drill down from dashboards

You can use the Drill Down context menu to navigate from a selected entry to a new dashlet with more detailed information. By default, the target dashlet is added to the same dashboard.

If Add cockpit dashlets and drill down to new dashboard option is selected in the properties of the active dashboard, the dashlet opens in a new dashboard. It also opens in a new dashboard, if you press the Shift key while selecting the drilldown target in the context menu the dashlet is added to a new dashboard.

Customize dashboard names and descriptions

In the dashlet and dashboard properties, you can change the names and add custom descriptions to single dashlets or complete dashboards. Custom dashlet names are displayed in the header of the dashlet. Descriptions are available as tooltips or in the custom dashlet header. To change the dashlet name and description, press F2 while the mouse pointer is inside the dashlet.

To document common navigation paths, single dashlets can be linked with specific dashboards. The links are configured in the Dashboard Links tab of the Dashlet Properties dialog box. Linked dashboards can be opened through the context menu of the dashlet under Show in Dashboard.
