AppMon Client troubleshooting

Mac Client doesn't launch

Cause: Java update to version 1.8.0_152 or higher.

Affected Client versions: 7.0.15 or earlier

Update the Client

  1. Download the Client version 7.0.16 or later
  2. Delete the /Users/<user name>/.Dynatrace/Dynatrace 7.0 folder.
  3. Drag the client.app into the Applications folder. Starting out of the dmg file won't work.
  4. Launch the Client out of Applications. Ideally it works now.
  5. Check if the /Users/<user name>/.Dynatrace/Dynatrace 7.0 folder appears again.
  6. If the Folder did appear again, check if the dtclient.ini file contains the -noSplash option at the end of the file. The -noSplash option must be at the end of the file otherwise the client won't launch because it is a runtime argument.

Without Client update

  1. Delete the /Users/<user name>/.Dynatrace/Dynatrace 7.0 folder.
  2. Make sure the client.app exists the Applications folder. Starting out of the dmg file won't work.
  3. Add the -noSplash option to the end of the dtclient.ini file.
    The -noSplash option must be at the end of the file otherwise the client won't launch because it is a runtime argument.
  4. Launch the Client out of Applications.
