This solution enables you to set up experiment parameters and pipelines for reporting that are based on the impact of chaos engineering experiments recognized in real-time using Dynatrace’s monitoring capabilities.

This integration is for developers and SREs who want to cover the following use cases:

• Reporting: As your chaos engineering experiments are kicked off via Gremlin, Dynatrace gathers data on all recognized impact to your system, and then visualizes this information as a report on chaos engineering experiment/test results.
• Fine-grained experiment control: When designing your chaos engineering experiments in Gremlin, you can establish parameters for safe execution and automated experiment halts based on information seen by Dynatrace. For example, you could command Gremlin to halt an experiment if Dynatrace recognizes that latency of a critical service exceeds a certain threshold during the experiment.
• Dependency mapping: A sub-function of the reporting use case, this integration can be used to identify unknown dependencies on critical services. For example, you could run an experiment against a set of services within your infrastructure, and have Dynatrace gather all seen impacts on other services across your systems and report it in real time, allowing you to quickly uncover upstream and downstream dependencies.
• **Automated chaos engineering: **This integration provides fine-grained control and automated reporting of results. You can use it for safe, automated chaos engineering. For example, you can set up a schedule for automated experiments through Gremlin that is subject to comfortable, safe conditions, being monitored by Dynatrace, and that sends automated reports around results to the relevant teams.
