Dynatrace AI Terms

These terms apply to all machine learning and generative and agentic artificial intelligence provided by Dynatrace as part of the Dynatrace Platform (“AI”). AI must be used in accordance with the Documentation. Capitalized terms not defined herein have the meanings set forth in the Dynatrace Subscription Agreement.

Responsible AI

Dynatrace will adhere to its Responsible AI Principles , and will comply with all laws and regulations applicable to its development and provision of AI.

Customer Data will not be used to train, fine-tune, or improve AI except:

  • To establish baselines for Customer’s sole benefit when using Dynatrace Platform capabilities enabled by machine learning.
  • For generative and agentic AI, Dynatrace may use Customer’s inputted prompts (“Prompts”) and responsive outputs (“Outputs”) to improve AI safety, security, and performance, but not to train or fine-tune models. Personal data included in Prompts will not be used for AI improvement.

Customer may configure the Dynatrace Platform so that generative and agentic AI are inactive or not available for use by Customer’s users.

Prompts and Outputs

Dynatrace may use Prompts and Outputs to provide Dynatrace Offerings to Customer and as detailed herein. Customer retains all rights in Prompts and, as between Customer and Dynatrace, owns Outputs (except, in each case, for (i) system instructions and inputs that are part of or generated by the Dynatrace Offering and (ii) pre-existing Dynatrace content or materials). Nothing herein limits Dynatrace’s rights with respect to data about the configuration, use and, performance of the Dynatrace Offerings. Similar Outputs may be generated for different Dynatrace customers. Outputs may include inaccuracies, and Customer should evaluate Outputs before use. DYNATRACE MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, ERROR-FREE, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Customer Obligations

Customer will not: (i) use AI in systems or applications where the use or failure could result in injury, death, or catastrophic damage; or (ii) use AI or Outputs to develop or improve models, products, or services that are similar to or compete with any Dynatrace Offering, or to benchmark or train any model. Customer is responsible for configuring and monitoring its AI-enabled workflows and reviewing and approving the actions and results of such workflows. Dynatrace will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from Customer’s misconfiguration or inadequate monitoring of AI-enabled workflows or use of AI in a manner that contravenes these terms. By electing to enable any fully autonomous execution mode for AI, Customer accepts responsibility for the results. Losses arising from automated actions that Customer implements are consequential damages.

Updates and Modification

Dynatrace may update these terms, or modify, suspend, or discontinue any agentic AI, upon written notice (including electronic communication) to Customer; provided that the change will not: (i) materially reduce overall performance, except as needed to comply with legal or material security obligations; (ii) expand Dynatrace’s rights to use data provided by Customer; (iii) eliminate existing options for Customer to enable or disable remaining AI; or (iv) apply until Customer renews the corresponding subscription, except for changes required to address legal or material security obligations.
