Ruxit now offers a Zapier integration that enables users to receive Ruxit problem notifications across 400-plus cloud services, including Twitter, Slack, JIRA, and many other providers. Zapier is a powerful integration platform that enables you to easily automate tasks across applications. Zapier’s strength is in connecting cloud systems where no direct interface exists and “glue code” would otherwise be required to enable a direct connection.

The following example shows how to set up Zapier to connect Ruxit with a Twitter account so that Ruxit problem notifications are tweeted out automatically. This is only one of countless use cases you can set up with Zapier:

  1. Set up a Ruxit Zap via the Zapier website.
You’ll need to create a Zapier account.
  2. Create a new Zap that uses Ruxit problem detection alerts as trigger events to automatically tweet the contents of each problem alert, as shown below:

  3. Copy the generated WebHook URL:
    Zapier_2
  4. Within Ruxit, Go to Settings > Integration.
  5. On the Problem notification setup page, click Set up notifications.
  6. Select the Custom integration option button and click Next.
  7. Paste the WebHook URL into the Webhook URL field on the Add custom notification integration page.

  8. Connect your Twitter account and set up a filter that triggers whenever a Ruxit problem detection message is received with the ‘State’ property beginning with the text ‘OPEN’:

  9. Define the outgoing Twitter message using problem properties such as Problem Title and Problem URL.

  10. Finish the setup of your new Zap and you’ll see a new connection between Ruxit and Twitter on your Zapier dashboard.

Now, when a new problem alert is sent from Ruxit, the newly created Zapier Zap will forward the specified problem message to your Twitter feed, as shown below:
