Microsoft released the next version of it’s Development IDE Visual Studio 2010. In fact – VS2010 is more than just an IDE to write applications. It also became a testing solution with the built-in Web-, Load- and functional testing capabilities. In a recent blog post and in a recent MSDN Webinar I demonstrated the capabilities of VS2010 Ultimate and how dynaTrace extends it with a set of Add-Ons to elevate Load-Testing and to speed up root-cause analysis of application performance problems.

We’ve just updated the Add-on that we supported for the Beta and RC builds to support the final release build of Visual Studio 2010. dynaTrace customers can read more and download the add-on via the dynaTrace Community Portal or directly from the Plugins & Extensions Download Area.

The new highlight with this version of the plugin is the ability to lookup a PurePath directly from the Web Result Viewer of Visual Studio. Whether you do single runs and want to analyze why single requests are slow or fail or whether you analyze failing requests after a load test – this feature allows you to lookup the problematic transaction with a single click by opening up the PurePath to analyze the complete trace the transaction/request took through your application (whether it is single-tier, multi-tier, .NET, Java or heterogeneous)

A click on the PurePath link opens the PurePath in the dynaTrace Client
