Constantly innovating. 7 years an APM leader.

When you’re an APM leader, innovation is everything.

But investing in R&D means a dual focus on core capabilities and new advancements – constantly weaving the two together, to create a formidable offering that will address the deep and complex needs of existing and future customers.

At Dynatrace, we invest more in redefining the APM industry than anyone else. We believe that’s why we’ve been positioned as a leader for the 7th consecutive year in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for APM.

APM quadrant fallout

For a while there, the Gartner MQ for APM was generally a crowded place to exist. Just five years ago, there were 29 companies touting solutions that would stand the test of time.

But as the very real and enormous challenges around IT complexity, cloud and digital transformation became apparent, we’ve seen 58% of those companies move away, or become acquired.

Dynatrace is the only APM leader to start and remain in a leadership position since 2010.

I believe, there are two main reasons for this:

1. We are the only APM player that gives complete insight into every app and every user, across the entire digital eco-system.

Across operations, DevOps, business, marketing and IT – Dynatrace has always been the solution that gives all internal users a complete historical context of every transaction across the entire infrastructure…right down to lines of code. When a single transaction can be worth millions of dollars, knowledge needs to run deep and gaps in data are untenable.

2. We are the only APM leader to see the big changes on the horizon.

Four years ago we set about re-inventing APM to address the future – cloud, new stack, artificial intelligence and hyper-scale application environments have become virtually impossible to manage without a redefined approach.

Never before has IT complexity and the demands of agility been more apparent.

That’s why we’ve focused on our capabilities that we believe are the most innovative on the market.

A.I.

We are the only APM leader that’s had AI integrated for a number of years. It’s not a vision for us; it’s part of our fabric and has completely changed the way our customers work.

Single agent, Smartscape technology

One agent installed and you can see your entire IT stack. We’ve made sure that Dynatrace can auto-detect and monitor the broadest set of technologies possible.

IoT

We’ve moved beyond traditional application monitoring. How cool is this – we’re tracking the AI interface for one of the world’s largest technology companies, and the in-car navigation system for one of the most-recognized car brands.

Partnerships and alliances

We’re one of the only APM leaders to secure AWS DevOps Competency, and AWS Migration Competency. We’ve made strategic plays with some of the biggest and most important cloud providers like OpenShift, OpenStack, Azure, Pivotal and others. We’ll continue to invest heavily in these alliances to shore up the future.

Strategic implementation partners remain a critical extension of our business success. We look forward to continuing and strengthening these relationships.

Digital virtual assistant

We’ve rocketed beyond dashboards and created Davis® – our AI virtual assistant that sits as one with your team. Davis’ ChatOps and VoiceOps functions have changed the way our customers avoid war rooms and stand ups. It also breaks new ground in how IT delivers application intelligence insights into the hands of non-technical business leaders.

If you haven’t seen it yet, have a look at one of our team members doing a demo/playing around with it here.

We believe this a testament of our ability to address current and future customer requirements, and of our relentless pursuit in innovation.

But if you think we’re in a strong position today, wait until you see what’s next.

We’re just getting started.

John
