Ben Nye

Ben Nye is a Managing Director at Bain Capital Ventures. Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, Ben was a Senior Vice President at Veritas Software. Previously, he was COO and CFO of Precise Software Solutions, and helped build Precise from a $10 M revenue private company to a $100 M revenue public company prior to its sale to Veritas. Earlier in his career Ben was a Principal at Allied Capital, a $3.5 B public investment firm. He also worked in the U.S. Treasury Department for Treasury Secretaries Lloyd Bentsen and Robert Rubin, and as a consultant for Mercer Management Consulting. Ben graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Business School, where he graduated with honors.

Salil Deshpande

Salil Deshpande is General Partner at Bay Partners. Salil has invested across two themes: (1) open source, enterprise software, and middleware, and (2) infrastructure and apps over social graphs. These include dynaTrace (continuous performance management), SpringSource (open source; acquired by VMware), G2One (open source; Groovy and Grails; acquired by SpringSource), Sonatype/Maven (open source artifact management), Engine Yard (open source; Ruby on Rails), MuleSoft (open source ESBs), Jambool (virtual currency and payments; acquired by Google), Lending Club (peer to peer lending), Buddy Media (brand management on Facebook), and approximately a dozen others. Prior to Bay, Salil was a hard core developer in CORBA and Java middleware, taught summer courses at Stanford University, and was founder and CEO of Customware, a CORBA Services company (acquired by Visigenic, which later became part of Borland), co-founder and CEO of The Middleware Company (acquired by Precise, now part of Symantec), and of TheServerSide.com network of social media sites (acquired by TechTarget). Salil has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Shimon Alon

Shimon Alon serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Attunity. Previously Mr Alon was CEO of Precise Software Solutions, a leading provider of application performance management. Following the acquisition of Precise by VERITAS Software Corporation in June 2003, Mr. Alon served as an executive advisor to VERITAS. Prior to Precise Software, Mr. Alon held a number of positions at Scitex and its subsidiaries including President and Chief Executive Officer of Scitex America and Managing Director of Scitex Europe. Mr. Alon holds a degree from the Executive Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Cosmo Santullo

Mr. Santullo brings more than thirty years of executive experience in building and leading successful technology companies to dynaTrace. He recently spent four years as senior vice president of worldwide sales and services with BMC Software, a leader in systems management. He began his career at IBM, building and scaling large organizations for 20 years in a variety of sales and marketing roles, culminating as general manager of IBM’s $8Bn North American personal systems division. Mr. Santullo subsequently served as EMC’s senior vice president of global marketing. Prior to his role at BMC, Mr. Santullo spent several years as a CEO, Board member, and advisor to a variety of early stage and public technology companies.

John Van Siclen, President and CEO

With over twenty-five years of leadership in the computer system and software business, John Van Siclen brings a wealth of experience to dynaTrace. Over his career, Mr. Van Siclen has held senior executive positions at a number of highly successful growth companies such as Interwoven, Informix and NetFRAME Systems. In addition, he has served as CEO at publicly-traded and venture-backed companies, including Interwoven (NASDAQ:IWOV), Adesso Systems, and Perspecta (acquired by Excite@Home). As CEO, Mr. Van Siclen is responsible for driving dynaTrace’s leadership in Continuous Application Performance Management, and advancing customer success in applying dynaTrace’s solution to make application performance an integral part of the application development lifecycle. Mr. Van Siclen holds an AB from Princeton, and is a Founding Fellow in New England’s Clean Energy executive program.

Bernd Greifeneder, CTO and Founder

As CTO, Bernd Greifeneder leads dynaTrace’s vision for Continuous APM, and has guided dynaTrace R&D from its founding in 2005, earning numerous awards for software innovation. He also served as CEO from 2005 to 2008, leading dynaTrace to consecutive quarters of record growth. As Co-Founder of ARC, Bernd developed SQL.Bench.Web which, through subsequent mergers with Segue and Borland, has become the core technology behind products such as Borland’s SilkPerformer® and SilkCentral TestManager™. In addition, Bernd’s work on production monitoring became BMC TMART, a core offering of BMC Software. Bernd has nine technology patents pending in the United States, and holds an MS from Johannes Kepler University.

Bain Capital Ventures

Bain Capital Ventures is the Boston-based venture capital arm of Bain Capital, whose affiliates manage over $50 billion of assets. Founded in 1984, Bain Capital and its affiliates have invested in over 250 companies with such notable successes as Doubleclick, Gartner Group and Staples. Bain’s history of investing in early stage companies also dates back to 1984, having made over 121 venture-stage investments since inception. In 2001, Bain Capital Ventures was formed as a separate arm of Bain Capital to focus exclusively on growth investments. Bain Capital Ventures currently has close to $1 billion under management.

Bay Partners, a Silicon Valley-based early stage venture capital firm focusing on software, consumer Internet, semiconductor and wireless investments, has been building successful technology companies since 1976, funding more than 350 startups. Bay leverages the operating backgrounds of its partners and its extensive network of executives and advisors to help outstanding entrepreneurs create the leaders in new, high-growth market segments.
